Pedestrian Struck In Hit-Run, Lower Paxton Police Say

A pedestrian strike by a hit-and-run driver is under investigation in Lower Paxton, police announced on Tuesday, Jan. 9. 

The intersection of  Lexington and Franklin streets, just south of Jonestown Road, where the pedestrian was struck, according to the Lower Paxton Police.

The prdestrian was hit by an SUV — possibly a Ford Explorer — in the first block of Franklin Street at the intersection with Lexington Street, just south of Jonestown Road, the police explained. 

The incident happened at about 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, as detailed in the release. 

The driver headed west on Lexington Street after striking the person when the turned from Franklin Street. They fled the scene, not stopping to find out what or who they hit, render aid, or call police. 

As the investigation continues the police are turning to the public for more information. Anyone with details about this hit and run is asked to contact Lower Paxton Police at 717-657-5656 and reference incident LP-23-029143.
